 UMASS AMHERST LIBRARIES HOSTS

“Promoting Academic Honesty and Preventing Plagiarism with Turnitin”

 

Amherst, MA – On Wednesday, September 1, 2010, the UMass Amherst Libraries host “Promoting Academic Honesty and Preventing Plagiarism with Turnitin” from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., in Room 2601, Du Bois Library, UMass Amherst.

The session provides an overview of the software Turnitin and shows instructors how to utilize it as a tool for evaluating written work. The goal is to understand the philosophical uses of Turnitin as a plagiarism prevention tool and provide help engaging students in the appropriate incorporation of resources into their writing process. This event is open to all instructors at UMass Amherst.
