Madeleine Charney, reference services librarian at the university libraries, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the U.S. Agricultural Information Network to attend the conference, "Agriculture Without Borders: Creating Knowledge and Partnerships Across Disciplines and Across the World," at Purdue University in May.

The United States Agricultural Information Network (www.usain.org) is an organization for information professionals that provides a forum for discussion of agricultural issues, takes a leadership role in the formation of a national information policy as related to agriculture, makes recommendations to the National Agricultural Library on agricultural information matters, and promotes cooperation and communication among its members.

Madeleine Charney is a library liaison in the subject areas of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning, Agriculture, and Sustainability.  She can be reached at 577-0784, or mcharney@library.umass.edu.
