Just for Faculty

Scheduling Films, Videos, and DVDs for Classroom Use
UMass Amherst faculty and staff may schedule UMass Amherst and Four College films, videos, and DVDs for classroom use. Please allow 3 working days advance notice for processing and confirmation of UMass Amherst titles, and 5 working days advance notice for titles from the Four Colleges. To schedule materials, use the Film & Video Request Form, or email avreserves@library.umass.edu.

Faculty must request equipment through AIMS Equipment Delivery in Goodell at (413) 545-5765. For auditorium setups and technical questions, call AIMS Technical Support Services at (413) 545-5768.

Placing Videos and DVDs on Reserve for Classes
Approximately 350 videos and DVDs are placed on reserve by faculty each semester. Some of these materials are personal copies, belonging to professors and to academic departments, and may be viewed only by students in the course for which they have been placed on reserve.  These items may be checked out on the Lower Level at the Circulation/Reserve Desk.  When the individual has finished viewing the item, it should be returned to that service point, not the third floor.

Faculty may request that videos and DVDs that are part of the Library's collection be placed on reserve for courses. The Library will also purchase videos and DVDs to be placed on reserve. Please use the Film & Video Request Form, or email avreserves@library.umass.edu to place a request.

Please see our Copyright Policy and FAQ for detailed information about which materials may be placed on reserve.
